Would you go up to someone, look them in the face and say "You're so fat!"? No, of course not! Then why do people think it's ok to say, "You're so skinny!" "You could afford to gain a few pounds" "You don't count cause you're skinny" ?
Being a very petite person all my life, I've heard the chit chat about my weight/size. I have even been rudely confronted by a doctor who told me that I had to gain weight in order to be healthy. I am a very active person; I love playing soccer, running and have recently discovered kickboxing! I don't obsess over exercising or restricting my diet to make myself feel good about the way I look which I think alot of people do.
Growing up in a society where image is everything is very difficult. I ran across this website "theskinnywebsite.com" which discusses celebrity weight, diet, exercise and body gossip. There are pictures of celebrities where people can vote to say whether they are too skinny or not! Honestly, I think it's sad that websites like this exist.
