Rekindled & Revived: latest DIY's

Lately, due to my lack of shopping (still standing strong after 13 days), I have rekindled a love for some older pieces I have and revived others. I have been going through my closet for the past few weeks trying to wear every item I have in order to help me sift through the things I no longer want and figure out what I actually need. I am realizing that once you get a little creative, there are endless possibilities. I have been following The Daybook and she has been doing the "30 for 30" challenge. She has chosen 30 items to choose from to create outfits for 30 days. It's very impressive the things she has come up with. Check her out.
So while I am enduring on my own little challenge, these are a few of the items I have revived

Purple Purse
I have had this cheap little purse for a while, and for some reason, I can't part with it. I decided to cut the strap off of it and just use the rings as the handles instead since I'm not big on the little shoulder bags anymore.

Peasant Dress
I bought this peasant style dress at a thrift store a long time ago and have never worn it. The pockets on the sides really had no purpose at all and just made me look like I had giant hips. I took off the pockets and removed the bottom skirt layer to create a cleaner look. A good ironing job and it's good as new!

Bleached Skirt
I found inspiration for this DIY from this photo from my new favourite blogger The little black list.
1. Find an old denim skirt and take the hem out
2. Use a household bleach and sprinkle it on the skirt as desired (Use a smaller container. Do not pour directly from the jug)
3. Rinse with cold water and lay out to dry
