AJ Michalka Joins Hellcats

The Disney crowd is really populating this cast, aren't they?

AJ Michalka, the less-famous half of 78violet, will be joining the cast of "Hellcats" for the second half of its first season. She will play the recurring role of a girl who works at a local record store and befriends sister Aly's character, Marti.

And, no surprise, a musical performance by the two girls is very likely.

Blah blah blah. How about showcasing Ashley Tisdale's musical talents? She wasn't even included on the series' soundtrack which was just released. That is such a shame!

Getting back on topic however, how annoying is it that AJ is coming on the show? We don't watch it, so we don't actually care too much but these sisters have been continually putting off their music for the sake of developing acting careers. Well can AJ get her own career instead of taking the easy way out and going on her sister's show?

"Hellcats" Gets Full Season

"Hellcats" has just been given a full-season order, which will bring the season one episode count from 19 episodes to 22!

Congrats to Ashley Tisdale and her costars for being part of such a successful show!

"Nikita" and "One Tree Hill" have also been given full-season orders.

Ashley Tisdale and "Hellcats" Costars Speak Out Against Bullying

Ashley Tisdale and her fellow Hellcats are the latest celebrities to speak out against bullying in the wake of such horrifying anti-gay violence stories in the past month. They speak specifically about an 11-year-old named Tyler Wilson who was beaten because he was a cheerleader. It's nice to see them using their voices for good!

Violence is never the answer!

"Hellcats" Soundtrack on its Way!

Kevin Murphy, executive producer of "Hellcats", has revealed that a soundtrack for the series is on its way!

A wide variety of songs, including covers and exclusive songs by recording artists, have already been featured on the series. The theme song, which is performed by Aly & AJ (oops! We mean 78violet), will debut in the sixth episode of the season. That song, as well as some other material recorded by Alyson Michalka will be featured on the soundtrack.

Yeah yeah that's great, but what about Ashley Tisdale? She BETTER be on that soundtrack!

"Hellcats" Renewed for Six Episodes

The CW has just picked up "Hellcats" for an additional six episodes, bringing the total to 19 episodes for the season so far!

We loss interest after the first episode, but we're glad that Ashley Tisdale is getting the success she deserves!

The CW Goes All Out for "Hellcats"

In order to promote their new cheerleading show, "Hellcats", The CW is attempting to break Guiness World Record!

On September 4, the CW will invite cheer squads from around the country to Frisco Memorial Stadium in Frisco, Texas to compete in a 5-minute choreographed dance routine. The network will pair with online cheerleading network Cheer Channel for the event.

The incentive: a $4,000 reward for the squad that brings the most cheerleaders.

Whether it's the incentive or not, it looks like the CW will get their record. The current record is 297 participants, while this event already has 2,400 people who plan to attend.

And we're so proud that Ashley Tisdale will be loosely involved in making record history!

Don't forget, "Hellcats" premieres next Tuesday (September 8) at 9 p.m.

Aly & AJ's Stalker Arrested!

Breaking news!!

Early this morning (June 17), Caesar Brantley was arrested by L.A. County Sheriff's Deputies after he tried to sneak into the gated Calabasas community in which Aly and AJ Michalka live. Security guards caught Brantley and subsequently called the police.

The sisters reportedly have a restraining order against Brantley and he was arrested and booked for violating that order as well as for felony stalking.

Thank God the security guards were on their game and caught the guy before he got to Aly & AJ! Stalkers can be incredibly dangerous. However, it is unclear if the sisters were home at the time of Brantley's arrest.

Extended "Hellcats" Preview

The CW is giving sneak peaks of its new fall shows, including the Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale-led "Hellcats". The lengthy preview isn't very promising. The show doesn't look too good. But we might tune in just to support the Tiz!

"Hellcats" Picked Up by the CW

The CW has announced that they have officially picked up Hellcats, a new series about competitive college cheerleading. The series, which stars Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale, will begin airing in the fall.

Ashley Tisdale and Scott Speer Attend Aly's Birthday Party

In a rare sighting, Ashley Tisdale and Scott Speer attended Alyson Michalka's twenty-first birthday party at the Wonderland nightclub last night (April 2). Ashley is set to film the "Hellcats" pilot with Alyson in Vancouver soon.

Looks like Scott hurt his right hand, too. We're wondering what happened!

Aly in Wonderland

Alyson Michalka went to the Wonderland nightclub in Los Angeles last night (April 2) to celebrate her twenty-first birthday. While leaving, she and her sister, AJ, signed autographs for adoring fans.

Aly & AJ, now 78violet, recently split with Hollywood Records and will not be releasing the album they just recorded. Instead, they will be looking for a new label to record a new album. But until then, Aly is focusing on acting and is going to Vancouver soon to film the pilot for "Hellcats", which also stars Ashley Tisdale.

Ashley Returns to Television!

We really didn't see this coming! According to reports, Ashley Tisdale has signed on to film the pilot for a CW series entitled "Hellcats". You may remember that Alyson Michalka is also signed on to the pilot.

Ashley will play Sierra, the fierce and peppy captain of the Hellcats cheerleading team and roommate to Alyson's character.

While they're only filming one episode, if the CW decides to pick it up, it could be Ashley's first television series since "The Suite Life". Most of you know how much we love Ashley, so this news makes us happy! Of course, we'd be happier if she just made music her top priority!

Alyson Michalka Returns to Television

Alyson Michalka is returning to television for the first time since "Phil of the Future" four years ago, according to reports. But her Disney days are now officially over and her rumored upcoming television series will focus on the competitive world of college cheerleading (yawn). She will play Marty Berger, a super-smart student at Memphis' Lancer University, who loses her scholarship and must try out for the cheerleading team.

That seems like a been-there-done-that plot. But we can't say we really care, as we haven't followed her or her sister's careers in years.

Aly & AJ Split from Hollywood Records

Musical duo 78violet (formerly known as Aly & AJ) have split with Hollywood Records! The sisters announced the split to their fans is a mass email, saying: "Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next."

This also comes with a little bit of bad news. Apparently they recorded an album for Hollywood Records before they went their separate ways. They admit that this album probably will not be released.

While it's nice to see that they're able to take their music in the direction they want, they didn't mention if they're signed on to a new record label. We certainly hope they are, for their sake. We'll keep you posted with more news as it becomes available.
