Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Eddie Borgo

Originally working as a stylist and clothing designer, Eddie Borgo eventually realized that jewelry was his true forte. He debuted his collection in a 2009 runway show with famed contemporary designer, Philip Lim, and I guess you can say the rest is history! With fans such as Vanessa Traina, Rihanna, and Kate Lanphear, Borgo's line is made up of fabulous cuffs, necklaces, and earrings in the shape of padlocks, my personal favorite! I love this guy... his jewelry is fun and quirky, yet still has that classic feel to it. With a men's line and collaborations with Altuzarra and Jen Kao, many of Mr. Borgo's designs are available for purchase on his website. Ahhh so dangerous! Ha! Up next for Eddie? Fine jewelry, as he has said he'd love to add color to his designs. Check him out and his incredible pieces at eddieborgo.com. XO, Liza

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: All for the Mountain

Carly Margolis and her boyfriend, Matthew Morgan lauched All for the Mountain back in 2009. She designs the jewelry and he designs the furniture. I LIVE FOR creative couples producing and coming up with things together. I love nothing more than the blurry nights of blaring loud music with my man and getting lost in a big canvas and painting with him. Then three hours later of not speaking and painting in silence... we get to step back, snuggle each other and gaze at what we made together. There is something truly magical, spiritual, and bonding about this process. So when I come across eccentric couples who have nailed this concept down, I can only be in awe of it because the connection really does shine through the material and product.

I have been on a serious binge of brass plated necklaces as of lately and these guys are nailing my mood right on the head with these babies below. Necklaces like these just add that perfect strange "oomph" to any outfit. I am still on a hunt for more to add to my collection... Vintage and modern takes. So far, these are the only ones that I have found to be right on the money as they are a little bit on the tribal side and not so gaudy. As we all know, I am insanely picky about jewelry because if I don't like it,  I'll just make it myself!! ;)  Happy Saturday guys!

Midas Ladder Necklace. This is the mother load!!! I love this to death. Ugh, what an incredible piece.

Killer.

Phalanx Necklace. I would wear this everyday. It would look amazing with a ratty t-shirt and could be worn with a stunning dress. I love that this piece can go with literally anything.

This stone is so beautiful.

Shoulder Pad Necklace. This is also a winner because it is versatile. Great with any top and can also be worn with dressier pieces. That's why I love brass so much. You can dress it up or down SO easily and it always adds that teensy bit of edge to your look.

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Delfina Delettrez

Born in Rome, Delfina Delettrez traveled back and forth from her birthplace to Rio de Janeiro throughout her childhood. A fourth generation Fendi (yes you heard that), Delfina often interned at Chanel before developing her own jewelry line. First selling it at Colette in Paris, this up and coming young designer most recently opened her own store in Rome. Her jewelry, which is quite avant garde, is most definitely not for the faint. Some of her pieces are absolutely crazy! I do adore the rings she does though... They are so unique. Check them out below. XO, Liza

Delfina and Karl Lagerfeld

This to me is a work of art!

These two rings are both available at Opening Ceremony.

I love all the hand rings she does!

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Lady Grey

Loving loving loving designers Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader for Lady Grey. These women met while studying metal smithing and sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art. They instantly bonded, became fast friends, and started this line. It reminds me of a modernized Wilma Flintstone. Hahaha. I am adoring these pieces. They just went down to half off on Forwardforward.com, but most are already out of stock. Sobbbb. I will be keeping an eye out on these two from now on though! Check it out!

I love how the stone is set.

I rarely wear earrings, but I would most definitely make an exception for these!

Amazing.

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Frieda and Nellie

Best friends, Stacy and Sarah began their jewelry designing after traveling together in the Galapagos about a year ago. After realizing they could re-design and play around with the friendship bracelets they picked up there, the two New Yorkers created a collection of jewelry called Frieda and Nellie. The line named after their grandmothers, is made up of the bracelets and necklaces interlaced with fabulous pieces and trinkets the girls find at flea markets and vintage stores. Personally, I adore all of the bracelets. Some made with rhinestones and some made with metal, the bracelets range from about $125-175. Here are my favorites from their website... I had a hard time choosing! ALL of them are just great. XO, Liza

I think this one above is my fave. I love the gold and the purple together.

How cute is the rhinestone flower on this one?

Loree Rodkin Knuckle Rings

Ok, so this knuckle ring madness obviously had to begin somewhere and it was all Loree Rodkin. I was at my best guy friend's house last weekend for a party and bumped into an acquaintance of ours who is a little bit of a gazillionaire... and she had on two of these on her right hand. My mouth dropped as I walked up to her to do the obligatory LA air kiss and hug ...then grabbed her hand and said "These are NOT Loree Rodkin!? Are they?" She goes, "Yeah, I have like 14 of these... a little collection." I go, "You realize you have a year of college tuition on your right hand. Your nuts." She laughed hysterically and goes "I know. I am sick." Ughhhh!!! They look a little cheap in photos, but they really are breathtaking in person. I kind of died all over myself silently and had to go have a moment in the bathroom and feel bad about being a broke 25 year old. Ahhhhh. These rings literally start at $13,000 and range up to $26,000. Here are some snaps of Loree's work.

Of course MK would have like ten of these, but she pulls it off best.

Madness.

Heidi doesn't really pull it off for me, but these rings are some of my very favorites.

Ozzy... Haha! And she is sporting the Pamela Love that Liza and I are drooling over.

So gorgeous.

KILLER.

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: House Of Waris

As you can see from all our of posts, Jewls and I are BIG jewelry people. We are always on the lookout for new different pieces that are unique and unlike anything out there. That is why I adore House of Waris, made by jewelry designer and actor Waris Ahluwalia. Born in India, Ahluwalia came to the United States at the age of five and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Based mostly out of the Big Apple, Waris frequently travels to his birthplace, where his jewelry is made. His pieces were first taken notice by the owners of the luxury mecca, Maxfield's in Los Angeles. Well of course! His stuff is absolutely gorgeous, as is EVERYTHING in that store. Not to mention he is a close friend of movie director, Wes Anderson, and appears in a number of his films. Love this guy and his stunners of necklaces and rings. Check out my top favorite designs of his. XO, Liza

Waris Ahluwalia himself.

I posted this necklace a few months back and I still am absolutely crazy about it. Although it is beyond expensive and will forever be out of my price range, it's fun to look at, right? Exactly.

House of Waris Love Conquers All Ring- Made of 18K yellow gold, this hand-engraved ring is simple, yet stunning.

This brass ring with flames and black diamonds is absurd!!! Wow, would I love to have this on my hand right now...

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Red Freckles

DYING over Lisa Shulman, creator of Red Freckles. These are hysterical ideas and concepts and I like a little side of sarcasm with my jewelry. Get this, one necklace is called the A.D.D necklace... you send her the pill you take (literally a real drug) and she puts it in resin and makes a necklace out of it?!?

I FREAKING LIVE FOR IT.

X. Jewls

The one you stick a pill in. Love it.

"You killed the part of me that cares". Ha, amazing. I've definitely felt like that!

More pills.

Gold tooth.
