Liza's Favorite Hair Accessories

A girl can never have too many hair accessories... EVER! They ultimately pull an outfit together with ease and style and well... are super cute! My drawers practically are overflowing with them... Headscarfs, bows, you name it. Here are a few pictures of me in some of my favorites, as well as a select few I have my eye on at the moment. Check them out below! XO, Liza

First Row (from left to right): Bashashaindy Bow Headband, Vintage Scarf, Prada Turban Headband, L. Erickson Bow Headband
Second Row: Alexander McQueen Scarf, Jennifer Ouellette Bow Headband, Chanel Scarf, Stacey Lapidus Crystal Headband

Adia Kibur Floral Glitter Headband- Love this one and for 18 bucks? Good deal! I'd throw this on during the day and wear it into the night. Available here at Shopbop.com!

Bashashaindy "Heather" Headband- This is the one I'm wearing in the first picture on the top left. It's a high quality satin and looks darling with the perfect party dress. Available here for $68.

Missoni Knit Headband- Every girl should have at least one Missoni headpiece, whether it be a scarf or this awesome stretchy headband! I have an endlessly long Missoni scarf that I wear around my neck or on my head, but this little baby is perfect for those not so good hair days. Available at Browns.

Eugenia Kim Solid Kelly Ruffled Barrette- Oh do I adore this one. My hair is definitely too short at the moment for it, but I can definitely see Jewls rocking this with her long mane! It may be absolutely huge, but it's so fun and such a statement. Available at Shopbop for $88.

Babooshka Studded Twist Turban- Looooving that turbans have made a comeback! Now I can whip out my Prada one from years ago more often! This one is pretty cool too. Available at Spanish Moss for $24.

Jennifer Ouellette Forehead Memory Headband- Jennifer Ouellette makes the best headbands, so it's no surprise I had to throw one of her designs in. Love how sweet this one is and it comes in a variety of colors. Available at Jennifer Ouellette for $65.

Jewls Must Haves: A Fabulous Jacket for Every Day of the Week

My number one rule is to never go cheapy discount on a jacket. Blazers and mini shrunken coats are like handbags to me. They are a commitment. The more you spend on the quality of them, the longer of a life they will have with you. I know I am talking about jackets as if they have souls... but they sorta do. ;)  Here's the thing... I have coats that I have been wearing since I was 16 that are still classic and timeless and work with everything. My basic ensembles can flare up and down and out of any of my ever changing moods and phases... but my jackets always complete them perfectly as I make sure to have the perfect array of choices.  A perfectly fitted blazer to me, is the cleanest/sexiest way to complete an ensemble. Blazer check. Pumps check. Clutch check. All there. All timeless. And most importantly, not all looking boring and mundane in the sea of leather bombers that everyone somewhere back in 08' found acceptable to throw on top of EVERYTHING. T-shirts, collared shirts, baby doll dresses, and even ball gowns. It's not OK and it's not flattering! I get the need to have the juxtaposition of fancy and casual edge next to each other but this is not the way to do it. I would love nothing more than to see this trend go away. If your gonna go for that trend and really binge on it, then find the perfect jacket to do it with! Here are my picks so far as I am constantly on the hunt to add to my collection. Hope you are all having a great week!

Gareth Pugh

The back of this piece is what really murders me.

Thakoon. I am obsessed with how this is almost a pullover. So different. I would love to wear this with a full long pleated skirt and huge clog boots.

Gaspard Yurkievich. The construction on this one is perfection. This is definitely a timeless piece.

Yigal Azrouel. My favorite. Paper leather jacket. This is so bad ass. I love it. I would throw this on with everything.

Tsumori Chisato. I may need to grab this. No joke. This is so sensual and innocent at the same time. Ugh, the pleating on the shoulder?! Come on!

And look at the back!!

Alexander Wang nylon folded jacket for those rainy days when you still don't want to look like crap.... There is this cute little guy! ;)

Come SALE Away!

So now that Christmas is over and the new year is approaching, everything and anything good online and in stores is on SALE! I love it! Marked down 50 % or even 70 %, I suggest hitting up your favorite stores and sites ASAP to snag those items you've been keeping your eye on. I know I have! Here are my some of my faves.  XO, Liza

Opening Ceremony Lace Up Boot Clog (Originally $555.00, Now $388.50). So not a major markdown, but these boots could be paired with practically anything. Love the pony hair and the small little studs. Available at La Garconne.

Erin Kleinberg Silk Velvet Drawstring Shorts (Originally $195.00, Now $58.49). Continuing on with the velvet trend... I adore these. I have always loved the combination of black and blue. These would be adorable with some black opaque tights and a pair of sick boots. Available at SAKS.com.
A.L.C.  Cooper Shirtdress (Originally $594.00, Now $297.00). This dress is fab. I could see myself getting a ton of use out of this one. Such a great piece to have. Available at Shopbop.com.
Alexander Wang X Linda Farrow Matte Sunglasses (Originally $325.00, Now 227.50). It is rare that great sunglasses get a markdown, so I was pretty surprised when I saw these! They are a really awesome basic pair of glasses to have. I always say... you can never have too many pairs of sunglasses! Available at La Garconne.
Lover Slouch Silk Shorts (Originally $304.00, Now $152.00). These shorts are on my wishlist at the moment. I love them SO much... the soft color, the fit, the length. So great. Available at Shopbop.com

Pendelton X Opening Ceremony Military Cardigan (Originally $685.00, Now $343.00). All the Pendelton X Opening Ceremony is amazing. The pieces are bright, fun, and ultimately super wearable. I particularly love this cardigan. Available at Opening Ceremony.
Rag & Bone Somerset Booties (Originally $475.00, Now $332.50) These babies are gonna go fast. I just know it! Such a great pair of boots to own. Once all beat up and worn in, they would look pretty awesome. Available at Shopbop.com
Thakoon Pompom Dress (Originally $1,260.00, Now $630.00). And last but not least, one of my favorite dresses of the year by Thakoon. Ask Jewls... I called her immediately the minute this piece popped up online. So incredible. It's on sale on a few sites at the moment, but this one markdown is crazy! Available at Kirna Zabete.

Only Cute Sweaters Allowed...

Ok, so it is officially "cold" in LA... Meaning it is "nippy". Regardless, in my past four years of living here, I have found that my sweaters become my winter jackets all season long. I need a lot of variety and I am in dire need of a new slew of perfectly plucked little pieces! It's crucial, so here are my top picks. Lize and I both tend to always go from one extreme to another... Mixing our lady-like elegance with our rock punk experimental edge. I feel my picks below show a perfect range of exactly that. Hope you are all doing fantastic and have a wonderful weekend!

X. Jewls

My top pick. Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Soldier Sweater. I would wear this until it fell apart.

The stripes in the back? The tuxedo tailoring? Ugh, it murders me...

Rachel Comey Twofer Cardigan.

My second favorite pick. Edun Drape Side Cardigan. This piece is exquisite in every way. The folds and the sheerness of the wool. I cannot get enough. It executes that perfect slouchy/sexy that I pretty much always do.

So killer.

Another Vivienne Westwood Gold Label. So stunning.

Karen Walker Loopy Cardigan. Ahhh, it's like a little lamb! Lize, you need this.

Rachel Comey Eyelash Swing Top Sweater. This is so sweet and little girlish. Gotta have a few of these laying around.

Kimberly Ovitz Hendron Leather Cardigan. Bad ass, innovative, and sort of jailbird. I am definitely into this one. Love it.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label Mongolia Knitwear Sweater. So King Kong! I love this! Ah, with little black tap shorts, sheer tights and a killer boot?!?! Hell yeah! I love this piece.

Liza's Top Ten Jackets and Coats for Fall/Winter

Ok ladies... so now that the leaves have fallen, Halloween is Sunday, and soon enough we'll have snow, we must all be prepared with the cutest jackets and coats for the chilly weather. I always say coats are a pain because when it's freezing out, no one can ever see the outfit you have on underneath. With these ten beauties below though, wearing a great outfit won't even matter... these are just too fabulous for words. XO, Liza

Opening Ceremony 3/4 Sleeve Cropped Trench Coat- So I have NEVER been into trenches, whether they are basic or all redone. This one though is awesome. I love how short is is and I am a sucker for coats that look like little dresses.

Proenza Schouler Toggle Cropped Jacket- UGH! Drool! This is beyond sick. I would do anything for this one. Paired with the Proenza J Brands too? Perfection.

Proenza Schouler Double Breasted Peak Lapel Coat- Ummm are you serious Proenza? Those guys honestly killed it for their fall collection. I think back to the shows and that one was hands down my fave. I remember seeing this coat come down the runway and I had no words. Really... none. It is that amazing. Such a statement piece.

Jenni Kayne Oversized Coat- Oooh this is just beautiful. I love how Shopbop paired it with a black dress, bare legs, and little booties. That is exactly how it should be worn in my eyes. Love it.

Peter Pilotto 3 Grid Metallic Trim Wool Coat- Whoa! What is this? You can always count on Peter Pilotto to give you something totally different and ultimately chic. This is stunning. It looks amazing on the model too. I'd love it with leggings or super skinny jeans.

Miu Miu Funnel Neck Wool Coat- Ahh Miu Miu. Never fails. This reminds me of a blouse of mine by Miu Miu I got a few years ago. I love this so much. I would wear it like crazy.

Isabel Marant Rick Rabbit Coat- I had to throw a fur in the bunch... I love a white fur and this one is unreal. The buttons on it are so cute, as well as the little collar. This would be a great coat to take from day to night.

Henrik Vibskov Dumpo Jacket- This probably wouldn't keep you very warm, but you would most definitely make a fashion statement! Had to throw it in the mix because it's so awesome.

Tsumori Chisato Zigzag Loop Coat- Tsumori never lets me down. EVER. Her stuff is consistently amazing. Whether it be a fabulous top or a funky pair of tights, I love it all. If I could afford it, I'd buy all of the Tsumori on Lagarconne and Forwardforward! Hahahaha. This coat is beautiful though.

3.1 Phillip Lim Boxy Coat- Last but not least! I love anything nubby and fuzzy and this Phillip Lim alpaca coat is fab.

Alexander Wang is KILLING ME

Honestly... I truly have dreaded checking all my favorite shopping sites lately because of the constant flow of amazing fall stuff. Alas though, Alexander Wang has arrived on Shopbop.com and it is OUT OF CONTROL. Here are my MUST HAVES. I am seriously pondering ordering these asap, even though I won't be able to wear them until it starts getting chilly. Ahh! XO, Liza

Hooded Romper- I love anything with a hood. I adore rompers. Ummm.... perfect!!!

Obsessed.

Sydney Backpack- Wait though... it is in VELVET. Omg. Early birthday present? I am not kidding.

Ponte Exposed legging- I don't care if you like leggings or hate them. I wear mine all the time, whether they are cheap ones from American Apparel or latex ones from Kova and T or LNA. Well, Mr. Wang has a pair from his T line and they are absolutely adorable. At $135 too? Amazing.
